PPK2 unable to show nRF52840DK current draw?

Hey I have a Power Profiler Kit 2 that I want to use to measure current from a nRF52840DK, but the profiler software is only showing 0-0.8uA, regardless of whether the DK is powered on or off.

I've connected the PPK and DK as shown below. I have one GND from PPK connected to DK GND, and then PPK VIN+VOUT connected to DK P22. USB connected to DK for power, and a USB connected to PPK data/power port.

I believe I've setup the application correctly, setting it to Ampere mode, and turning off the "enable power output" option since the DK is powered via USB.

What am I missing?

Update: Actually if I remove the 4-pin header from the the PPK, there's no change in the observed current values. The 4-pin header is pushed in all the way, and I tried swapping it around just in case I had it mixed up, but it appears as if there's no connection between the PPK and DK?

  • That was originally enabled when I first started, but then assumed it wasn't necessary.

The documentation states "Toggle Enable power output to enable power to the DUT."

I'm confused how the PPK provides power output to the DK if I only have connections going to the current measurement pins + ground. Should I not have the DK powered through USB?

Regardless, thank you for the tip, I will just stick to your suggestion.
