Connection to Vodafone depens on the cell

We have implemented a GPS/GSM module that works perfectly when using SIM of Movistar (Spain).

When the SIM comes from Vodafone, it turns out that the function lte_lc_connect() fails depending of the cell, whatever the bands that the cell uses.

Any idea?

Does the SIM support LTE-M or NB-IoT? And which Spain provider does the SIM support with LTE-M or NB-IoT?

You may check how to get modem-traces using the "Cellular Modem App", maybe that gets also some hints.

Yes, the SIM support LTE-M and NB-IoT and the Spain provider claims so, but is not clear if all the cells are LTE-M or NBIoT compliant. Keep in mind that the SIM works well on some cells.

Sure, see nRF Connect for Desktop Apps.

That's a collection of useful tools, among  them the Cellular Monitor, which allows to get some modem captures.

You need to enable the modem trace, CONFIG_NRF_MODEM_LIB_TRACE=y, and it requires a "second UART" channel, as the nRF9160-DK and Thingy:91 has.
