Design RFID tag that works with Wifi

Is it possible to manufacture a RFID tag that works within the 2.4GHz wifi wavelength range allowing a mobile-phone to power and pick up data from this RFID tag. Data would only need to be transmitted from tag to mobile phone, keeping the power requirements and footprint small.

I had gone through nRF52832. It supports 2.4GHz for ISM band. want to know is it possible to read data on nRF52832 through wifi of mobile phones.

@Rupak: Why wifi ? Why not Bluetooth Smart (which our nRF51, and nRF52 support) ? Bluetooth Smart also uses 2.4GHz and is supported by most smart phone.
