nrf52840 not able to recover the protected memory.

Question

Hi, 
 I have a nrf52840dk board with me which is not used for quit sometime. I remember the board was working earlier. Now I see "Core protection state is unknown" message in the nRF Connect. 
 No matter how many times I try to erase all and recover the board, it always shows the same message. 
 Attached the screenshot, log received when try to connect and erase all.

I even tried to recover using nrfjprog command and I get the below error.
