NRF connect for vscode not loading

Hello,

For a few months now the vscode extension for NRF connect is not working on my Linux install.

I get the welcome banner on the left with the options as shown below. But none of the buttons work and the extensions is always loading.

I tried uninstalling all the extensions, SDKs, toolchains, VScode, and command line tools. But so far nothing has worked. Going back to a year old version got me the old welcome screen but still didn't allow me to do more

Which version of the Linux operating system do you use?

Looking at operating system requirements, I would recommend that you try using Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 64-bit instead.

I checked with my coworker who has it working, and he is also on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

Downgrading is not really an option

Can you build and flash any NCS application without VS Code, from command line?

Could you show your build command? 
Which sample have you tried to build?
Could you provide full log?
