Cannot perform Halt Mode Debugging by keeping break point for nRF52840 and using Segger Embedded Studio

Hi,

we are trying to perform the halt mode debugging by keeping the break point. But the breakpoint never hits. We are using below HW and SW tools

HW: nRF52840

SDK: nRF5_SDK_17.0.2

IDE: Segger Embeddeed Studiio V5.66, V5.42a, V5.20 

Debugger: Segger J link

Are you sure the code actually reach the place you have set the breakpoint and that the chip is in debug mode? Maybe check out:

Typically if you use optimization it may not allways set the breakpoint on the specific line, so you may try to disable optimization on the specific file you are want to debug, and see if that helps.

Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for the information. I was able to debug the code after performing complete chip erase. Looks like the break points were not hitting because we had DFU Bootloader code in bootloader section. After easing complete chip we were able to perform debug.
