Power Profiler Kit II not recognized by my computer after pulling out by accident

First attempt to use the Power Profiler II on Windows 10 didn't work. I was getting [sdfu] No deviceInfo available for the device, code: Argument. Message: Operation device-info failed, [sdfu] No deviceInfo available for the device. Then I changed the Power Profiler version from latest 4.0.0-beta6 to 3.5.5 That worked great for an hour until I sneezed and pulled the USB Micro cord loose. It was in source meter mode. 5 or 6 power cycles later and the profiler registered again. Before then I was getting this error message each time it tried to connect.

For the third time I've tried to connect the power profiler, I get no error. The profiler flashes the green light but doesn't register as a USB device. It doesn't show in Power Profiler -> Select Device no matter how many times I restart Power Profilier. I've tried both 4.0.0-beta6 and 3.5.5. I've tried two USB 2.0 slots and two USB 3.0 slots. I'm using Windows nRF Connect for Desktop v4.3.0.

Is there anything I can do or is the profiler damaged beyond repair?

  • I have the same issue on my Linux laptop while connecting it on my windows laptop everything works fine, using the same USB-cable and the same profiler kit. the application on both PC's is V4.2.0. On the Linux PC i see the same serial number as on the windows PC so the PC detects the device but I can't connect. have already tried:

    1) reboot the Linux PC

    2) reconnect to the windows PC -> no issue here

    3) redownloaded the sw on the linux PC

    4) used several USB ports on linux PC

But nothing helped to identify/fix the issue...

What can I do more to be able to use this profiler on my linux PC?
