Advice requested on audio transmitter/receiver

Hello, I am designing a system to transmit a mono or stereo audio signal over RF, a few hundred feet, then receive it and reconstruct the audio and listen to it on a speaker or headphones. If the receiver were an off-the-shelf product, this would be a plus, like a WiFi or Bluetooth speaker for example, or cell phone. Are there iOS and/or Android apps to receive audio from Nordic devices? Which transceiver would you recommend for this application? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks Ron

Unfortunately, we do not have any audio specific ICs that can cover the range that you require. The nRF2460 (mono sound) can cover approx. 10 meters.

It will be hard to achieve quality audio over a range of several hundred meters with any of our products. Using 250kBit data rate with the nRF51 or nRF24L-series can achieve 100 to 150 meters of range in Line-of-sight (with a well-tuned design). However; Audio is very timing-critical and does not handle packet drops well, and with 250 kBit datarate, you will have to compromise on the link throughput.
