Inquiry Regarding Matching Circuitry for nRF5340 Antenna Impedance

Dear Nordic Team,

I hope this message finds you well. We are currently working on integrating the nRF5340 into our device, and we are in the process of finalizing the matching circuitry for the antenna impedance. To ensure optimal performance and compliance with our design requirements, we would appreciate your assistance in providing details on suitable matching circuitry components.

Here are the specific details we are seeking:

  1. Part Number: Requesting recommendations for specific part numbers of matching circuitry components suitable for the nRF5340 antenna impedance. If different options are available, kindly provide a list along with their respective features.

  1. Description and Specifications: A brief description of the recommended matching circuitry components, highlighting their key features and specifications relevant to antenna impedance matching.

  2. Application Notes or Documentation: Any application notes or documentation related to the recommended matching circuitry that can aid us in the integration process.

Your expertise in this matter is highly valued, and your assistance will greatly contribute to the success of our project. Thank you in advance for your time and support.

  • The refence design is using Murata LQP03 inductors. The capacitors are less dependent on the manufacturer. Use +/-0.1 pF tolerance.

The two components in the mathing netword does harmonic filtering and impedance transformantion to a 50 ohm interface. Any antenna tuning components comes in addition to this.

Note how C3 in the reference design is grounded (not ro the ground plane)

  • Hello Nordic team,

    thanks for sharing the information.

Our client has provided a matching filter component from Jonson Technology with the part number PN# 2450FM05A0045001T. They are keen on understanding whether this component is compatible with the nRF5340.

Could you please review the provided part number and share your insights on its compatibility with the nRF5340 antenna impedance?

Any feedback or recommendations from your team would be greatly appreciated.

This information is crucial for our design considerations and will help us optimize the RF section layout.

Thank you in advance for your support. If you require any additional details, please feel free to reach out.

  • The 2450FM05A0045001T is designed to replace the mactching network on the nRF5340 CLAA only (CSP). It's not designed for the QKAA  (aQFN).

Antenna tuning component comes in addition to this.
