nRF52840 Dongle not working on Ubuntu

hey everyone, I am trying to use the nRF connect for Desktop Bluetooth Low-energy on Ubuntu system. when I select the device from the list , it starts to program it and the afte the programming is done , It just shows me a white BLE standalone window. I have tried the Dongle on my windows system and it works perfectly so the issue is not from the Hardware.

my BLE version is 4.0.4-patch1 and I have put the udev files in /etc/udev

can someone please tell me why is it not working? did i miss something or could it be a BLE bug?

There's an incompatibility with the application and the newer libstdc++ package in ubuntu. Could you try the workaround posted here?

Hi,

Thank you for your help, I had gone through most of the answers from that other case but stopped when it got to libstdc++ downgrade because I did'nt want to mess the system up.
The command given by the answer worked.

will I have to run that everytime I want to connect to the Dongle when executing a script?

I am using a python script that I want to run on Thonny in which we connect to the MAC address of the Dongle and It is my first time doing sth like this so I am not sure.

I would recommend that you run it as a script, and call that script from your test-system.
