RAK4630 Seeking Insights

Hello everyone,

I'm currently developing a project that involves combining LoRa and maybe NB-IoT technologies. For this purpose, I've already been utilizing an nRF52840 microcontroller. In my quest to expand the system, I've come across the RAK4630 module from RAK Wireless, which appears to be a promising addition due to its support for both LoRa and extension option to NB-IoT.

Given that my project already incorporates the nRF52840, I'm eager to learn from anyone here who might have experience integrating the RAK4630 into their setup. I'm particularly interested in insights related to the practical aspects of bringing these two components together, such as any specific considerations or challenges that might arise, especially concerning software development and hardware configuration.

Furthermore, I'm curious about the RAK4630's performance and reliability in real-world scenarios, especially in comparison to other similar solutions. It has also caught my attention that the RAK4630 is not listed among Nordic Semiconductor's third-party distributors, and I wonder if there are specific reasons for this or any recommendations from Nordic Semiconductor regarding this matter.

Any shared experiences, advice, or alternative module suggestions that work well with the nRF52840 and support LoRa and NB-IoT would be greatly appreciated. I aim to make the best decision for my project and would value your input highly.

Thank you in advance for your support!
