v2.6.0 SDK modem firmware compatibility?

Hello,

We have need of some of the new features. in v2.6.0 SDK (mainly the local_time in the date_time library). But I'm seeing some issues after upgrading to the latest version of the SDK v2.6.0. We were previously built and running on SDK v2.5.0 and modem firmware version 1.3.5 for the nrf9160. 

I check the compatibility matrix and there doesn't seem to be any mention of SDK version 2.6.0? So just wanted to make sure that v1.3.5 modem firmware for the nrf9160 is compatible with SDK version 2.6.0.

The NCS 2.6.0 is compatible with MFW 1.3.6. It will be added to the following page in TechDocs.

Thanks for checking. Will MFW 1.3.6 be the oldest version that v2.6.0 will be compatible with? I ask because we are currently running SDK v2.5.0 and MFW 1.3.5, and I'm trying to understand if we will need to upgrade the modem firmware when we update to v2.6.0.

Hi Eric,

Yes, MFW 1.3.6 is planned as the last MFW version with nRF9160 and may support several coming NCS versions.

nRF91x1(add DECT NR+ support) as nRF9160 successors will be compatible with MFW 2.x.x and continue to evolve with NCS later versions.
