Selection of known good QSPI flash for nRF5340

We are designing a board with nRF5340 and need an external flash of preferably 512Mb (128MB) or more and 1.8V supply. For speed reasons it is best to use the QSPI protocol.

As a candidate we are looking at IS25WP512M (datasheet). Would that work with nRF5340?

Now - selection of a flash which also is supported by nRF5340 does not appear straight forward as there are a multitude of hardware and software protocols, and not a clear set of standards and naming conventions.

Does there exist a list of known good flash's for the nRF5340?

    Hi,

    There is no official list of known good QSPI flash memories that could be used with nrf5340. The candidate you mentioned seems to support QSPI (Quad I/O) and could potentially work with nrf5340. Good starting point is to look at the QSPI flash which is already present in nrf5340-dk. In case of doubts, you could contact relevant QSPI flash memory manufacturer. Please note that whichever external flash memory you choose, thorough testing should be performed on your end.
