nPM1300 Battery with PCM

Hello,

I am working on a project with the nPM1300 PMIC. We are planning to use a LiPo battery.

My question is, do we need a battery with a built-in PCM (Protection Circuit Module) or can we use just a simple LiPo cell if the PCM functionality is provided by the nPM1300?
