nRF52840 and nRF21540 RF antenna flex PCB

Hi all,

I am designing a wearable device with a strap (concept as attached image)

I plan to design the RF antenna on the flex PCB and then place it inside the strap (strap and antenna position as attached picture)

My device is using nRF52840 and nRF21540 RF FEM to extend the Bluetooth range

So my question is:

1)  I plan to use an antenna chip. If I use an antenna chip, can I design it on a flex PCB?

2)  Is there any reference design PCB for an RF antenna on flex PCB or is there any tutorial to help design an RF antenna on flex PCB?

3)  Any suggestions for designing the antenna for this device to give the best performance and greatest range?

Due to the Easter holidays we're a bit behind on handling cases I'm afraid. We have a whitepaper for 1/4 wavelength monopole antennas available here. Other than that we don't have too much on design of antennas in flex PCBs:  Antenna Design Guidelines on Flex PCB
