No prj.conf file was found in the C:/ncs/v2.5.2/nrf/samples/caf_prj folder on ncs v2.5.2

I put prj.conf files under C:\ncs\v2.5.2\nrf\samples\caf_prj\configuration\nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp folder. But west build failed with the following messages.

Procedures to reproduce this issue are as follows.

1. Unzipping caf_prj.zip to C:\ncs\v2.5.2\nrf\samples folder

2. cd C:\ncs\v2.5.2\nrf\samples\caf_prj

3. west build -b nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp

  No prj.conf file was found in the C:/ncs/v2.5.2/nrf/samples/caf_prj folder,

Please move the prj.conf file to your C:/ncs/v2.5.2/nrf/samples/caf_prj location and see if this resolves your issue.

I put prj.conf file under C:\ncs\v2.5.2\nrf\samples\caf_prj\configuration\nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp folder is because I would like different boards can has its own prj.conf files (e.g. nRF5340 DK has its own prj.conf file, nRF52832 DK has its own prj.conf file, etc.) Could you kindly tell me how to acheive it ?

In this case I would have different build configurations for each hardware configuration, and then use the Configuration option (an option when you are setting up a new build configuration) to include the specific specific_prj.conf for the specific board you are working with.

I am not sure I understand exactly what you mean by this, are you asking whether there are any examples that use the configuration option to change between different boards?
If so, this is typically done in examples by making a new board configuration and changing the build target for the specific board you are working with then. In the case that you have configurations on top of the DK (like attached sensors etc) then you would use the configuration option to change between these.
