nRF5340 Direction Finding Connectionless Tx - How to change the name for extended advertising?

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to program a nRF5340 board to do extended advertising. I am using the direction_finding_connectionless_tx sample. I have made no modifications to this sample. I am running nRF Connect SDK 2.5.1 on VSCode. After running the sample, I get this output, which means its working:  

However, I was wondering if there is a way to change the name of the extended advertising to something other than EC:04:19:B3:2A:D0. I want to do this so my ANT-B10 board can read tags from this nRF board, since I believe the current name isn't an eddystone-UID namespace. I see in the documentation that if I do this I can change it:

but I am not sure where this "advertising data" is. Does anyone have any advice?

I am not sure if I quite understand - is your primary objective to familiarize with using extended advertising, or do you also intend to use the direction finding features as well? In case of the former I would recommend staring with an easier example that showcases the use of extended advertising better than the direction finding connectionless tx example does.
For instance, you could take a look at the peripheral_hr_coded example, which more simply demonstrates using extended advertising.

If you are new to working with the nRF Connect SDK I highly recommend going through the nRF Connect  SDK Fundementals course on the DevAcademy to quickly familiarize with how it is to work with the SDK! :)

Thanks for replying to me. I will take a look at the modules you have recommended me.

My intention is to use the direction finding features. I just want to change the name of the extended advertisement so my ANT-B10 board knows what tag to look for.

Thank you for clarifying. I would recommend starting out with the fundamentals course and to familiarize with extended advertising in general before moving to work with the direction finding example, I concur that this would be the best approach! :) 

If you just want to change your device name you may do so through the kconfig here.
