Has anyone attempted to use an nRF51 or similar BT device in an In The Ear (ITE) or Completely in the Canal (CIC) hearing aid yet?

The lack of space is a really serious issue on this one. Would be happy to converse with anyone who has tried, with success or not. Thanks, Gareth

  • I used an nRF51 in a mouth guard. Using the csp package I was able to make a pretty small PCB. I've seen some flexible PCB boards that are extremely thin as well so I could see you getting a board possibly less than 15mmx15mm with nRF51/nRF52 depending on what other HW components you need. BLE range/integrity may be a challenge because the human body and especially the head absorbs lots of the EM waves.
