Is GC9X01X display driver in Zephyr 3.6 available if I am using nRF Connect 2.6?

I am looking to take advantage of the new GC9X01X display driver which I believe is in the latest Zephyr 3.6 release. I just downloaded nRF Connect 2.6. The response to my previous question about aligning versions of Zephyr with Nordic's version indicated it could not be done exactly. This question highlights the challenge. I would like to use the driver, will nRF Connect include much of Zephyr version 3.6?

It is not present in ncs v2.6.0 tag, but it is present in the main branch.

What you can do is to cherry pick this commit: https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-zephyr/commit/5a3f53551f353e3b6284eecd7de760f5d4a1b415

 

Here's how you do this:

cd path/to/ncs_v2_6_0/zephyr
git fetch ncs
git cherry-pick 5a3f535

Ok. I followed the instructions. My directory was: /opt/nordic/ncs/v2.6.0/zephyr


but got this error message:

/opt/nordic/ncs/v2.6.0/zephyr/drivers/display/display_gc9x01x.c:11:10: fatal error: zephyr/dt-bindings/display/gc9x01x.h: No such file or directory
   11 | #include <zephyr/dt-bindings/display/gc9x01x.h>

Thank you for the updated files. I was able to reproduce the issue.

The original commit had a bug, so you will need to also cherry-pick this commit:

Similar to as before;

git cherry-pick e90613e

 

My apologies for not noticing this.

 

Can you try this and see if it compiles properly now?
