Questions about the license of Distance Measurement library

Hello,

I once asked about Distance Measurement library in this ticket: Questions about the principles and applications of Nordic Distance Measurement Toolbox. I recently finished testing this library and hope to use it in production and I see that the maturity level of this library is experimental. So I have two questions about the license of this library:

1. What kind of license do I need to comply with?

2. If this library is no longer supported or deleted in the future, can I still keep this feature in the product? Or do I need to delete this feature?

Best regards,

Sho

  • Hi,

For a report on which licenses apply to a given project, you can use the Software Bill of Materials tool.

Source files have an SPDX license identifier in a comment on the top of the file.

The Distance Measurement library also has a dedicated licence.txt (in the nrfxlib/nrf_dm/ folder), which refers to the 5 clause license found at nrfxlib/LICENSE. This license is used for most of nRF Connect SDK. For more information about licences, see the Licences section of the nRF Connect SDK documentation.

Regarding question 2, there is no time limit on usage of the library. Regardless of support status in future SDK releases, you can still use any parts of the current SDK release according to their respective licensing terms.
