does NRF52840 Dongle needs Jlink?

hi, I am new to Nordic and just received NRF52840 Dongle, I wish to program it through Arduino IDE. My first step was to install Ada-fruit NRF52 library and boards to Arduino ide. now I can see following boards on IDE, now which board is compatible for NRF2840 dongle?? secondly in following picture you can see that I don't get bootloader option in tools, how to correct that??

further I tried to upload blinky to raytac NRF52840 Dongle selected which I connected NRF52840 dongle to the usb port of my laptop directly with any Jlink. and I get this error.

kindly guide what is the issue? does NRF52840 dongle needs Jlink? and how do I get bootloader option in tools?

Hi,

The nRF52840 Dongle (made by Nordic - board named PCA10059) comes with on-board bootloader to program it through the USB port, but this bootloader might not be compatible with Arduino. You can reference the nRF52840 Dongle programming tutorial on how to program it, both over USB and using J-Link. To replace the bootloader on the dongle, you will need an external J-Link debugger. If there exists Arduino-compatible bootloaders that you can flash to this board, I'm not sure. Nordic have no official support for Arduino, this is provided by 3rd parties.
