Hi,
Since nRF5340 Audio DK only supports LE Audio, it only can stream to the audio to BLE Audio devices such as Galaxy Buds 2 pro instead of Bluetooth Classic protocol (which is what is used for Bluetooth audio playback in most devices today) devices. As I know, Apple AirPods support Bluetooth Classic protocol.
If you get some nRF5340 Audio DKs (at least 3 - one to be the gateway and two to be headsets) you could quickly have the setup with our reference application - then you can move on to adding the gateway capability to the headsets, and to have the other gateways tune into this gateway when it starts testing. See the nRF5340 Audio feature support.

OK, thank you Amanda. I was confused because I remembered seeing this
https://www.nordicsemi.com/Nordic-news/2023/10/Shenzhen-Feasycoms-FSC-BT631D-employs-nRF5340-SoC
https://www.feasycom.com/fsc-bt631d
And now that I look more closely I can see that I think they've used some custom firmware to do the A2DP profile on the nrf5340. possibly a derivative of this
I find it very strange that the nordic haven't made an official A2DP implementation for the nrf5340. It would add support for millions of speakers with minimal effort.
Anyway, thank you for clarifying!
In case anyone else looks for this info. I made a mistake, the nrf5340 radio can't transmit BR/EDR because the modulation is different to LE. Same with all nrf52 chips. The Feasycoms module actually has a CSR8811 chip that's not shown on the datasheet.
