proprietary AOA radio config

Hi, I'm configuring my proprietary AOA radio,  and I have consulted the white paper and the Product Specification, but I did not get enough useful information.

1. I want to sample IQ from a particular field of payload so I changed the value of the DFECTRL1.DFEINEXTENSION register to 0 ,Is it effective? 
2. If so, how do I change the sampling offset so that  sample from a particular field? Is it ok to use  DFECTRL2.TSAMPLEOFFSET? 
3. How do I verify the validity of the IQ data, because no matter how I modify the configuration, I can read the data from the DFEPACKET.PTR
