Configuring a specific transmitted power with nrf9161

Hello, I would like to know if the system in package nrf9161 integrated in the thingy-91x can be configured to transmit on a particular channel and at a specific power. And with the development kit?

  • Hi Adrian,

You can find nRF9161 specification here nRF9161's LPWA network processor can operate as a 5G DECT NR+ (NR+) device, independent of cellular network provider or as an LTE modem compliant with 3GPP LTE release 14 Cat-M1 and Cat-NB1/NB2 standards. It integrates a flexible transceiver with frequency range 700 MHz to 2200 MHz, through a single 50 Ω antenna pin and a baseband processor. NR+ or LTE operation is supported depending on which network protocol firmware the customer installs on the LPWA network processor of the nRF9161

Can you further explain about your application? Is it related to DECT NR+ or your own custom low layer design?

    Best regards,

    Charlie

  • Hello Charlie,

Thank you for responding so quickly. What I want to do is determine the radiated power that the device transmits in different environments while working with NB-IoT. For this purpose, I need to configure a continuous signal to a specific power. I would also like to be able to change that power in real-time (increase it) in case of antenna mismatch.

Is it possible to do this with the two devices I mentioned earlier?
If so, how is it done?

    Thank you for your attention!
