Inquiry Regarding DFU

I am writing to seek advice on whether there could be any issues if the DFU Service is always available.

Currently, the devices we are selling allow the DFU Service for a limited time only when a DFU signal is received through BLE Uart messages.

Are you using the nRF5 secured bootloader or NCS mcuboot?

Currently, the devices we are selling allow the DFU Service for a limited time only when a DFU signal is received through BLE Uart messages.

I think it should be fine if it only allows DFU under specific conditions that only you know.

I'am using 'Buttonless DFU without bonds'.

Could there be any security or functional issues if it is always activated?

Hi, 

The secured bootloader has the signature validation which ensures that only signed updates will be accepted.
