NRF5340 Connecting via USB

Hi,

I have a new NRF5340-DK and I am trying to connect it via usb on linux but do not see it in the syslog when connected. I actually do not see anything at all.

When turned on and the power source is USB I have not power

When turned on and the power source is VDD I have power and LED5 is flashing as well as LED 1-4. And when I press Button 1-4 they work too.

Never used a Nordic board so it could be something very obvious. (It took me a while to find the power button - just not used to one on board)

I have used ESP32 and STM32 and have 2 Raspberry Pi machines so you can hopefully see some experience but no expert

I have add the udev rules but I would expect something in the log without them and would expect lights when set to usb.

I have tried 3 different cable known to be working

This did turn out to be the cable. I think not all cables. Are equal as two did not work and one does. I still only have this working with vdd and not usb but working so on my way.

J2 is the USB connector to use, it powers entire board by default. 

SW8 is the ON\OFF switch

SW9 is a selector for power source, it should be in the middle position.

Thanks, still cannot understand why sw9 has a usb position but it works fine on vdd so guess it will remain a mystery.

There is a NRF USB port (J3) that can also be used.
