Power Profiler Kit II bricked after update from Bluetooth Standalone

With my PKK2 connected to the PC, I got an update prompt inside the Desktop Bluetooth Low Energy Standalone, which I then accepted not thinking much about it. This process failed and now the PPK2 does not respond anymore. I performed recommended steps for recovery in this post  Reprogram Firmware on Power Profiler Kit II. However, the update process fails with this log:

What can I do? I don't have a dedicated device to perform a flash.

I have to add, that although it mentions to be completed successfully, the ppk2 does not light up and is only visible as "Unknown" and not responsive in the Power Profiler software.
