Give advise on Batch-Test for me?

Hi,

I developed a wire-less sensor based on 51822-BLE. I need a batch test method for the product.

My thought about the test is that connect the sensor to phones, and compare it with the bench-mark sensor. But have some questions here.

1, As for BLE is a 1-1 connection, it's a huge work if we connect all the sensors one by one to the phone. And it's very difficult if many guy work together, they can't distinguish which one is their target divise when many device on ADV state. And we need some phones for test, we don't think it's a good way.

2, Could I directly swith the S110 to the RFID state, then All the testers can receive all the sonsors data? (BTW, we have developped other sensor based on 24L01-RFID, and all the readers' work and software is complete, we only need adjust our software suitable for testing instead of for using)

3, If switch to a RFID means a pure new develope for RFID, and may use many time, is there other choise. Use the Beacon (By now I only know the basic concept of beacon, dont know any technical details)? Can our computer Win7-64bits suport the Beacon directly, or need 3-party support? How much about the support?

4, Any one can give me other advice?

  • Hey.

I am not sure what you mean by RFID mode, can you elaborate?

You can make all the devices advertise (broadcast) their sensor values. These advertisements can be picked up by a computer or phone. You will not have to connect, but you will still have the problem of distinguishing between the different devices. If your devices has some kind of ID, this could also be broadcasted to solve this problem.

Windows 7 does not have built in Bluetooth Smart support. (Windows 8 and 10 does) You can however use our nRF51 Dongle and Master Control Panel software to connect to devices.

  • Hi,

What I mean, if I worked in product(BLE) mode, I need connect my device to phones one by one. It's not a good way. But I have experience develope RFID sensor based on Chip-24L01, all of them have their ID, and I have developed the corresponding READer, and I developed a WinCE application to recieve / display all the value. So my first glance of this issue is to switch the 51822 to a RFID mode, then I can easily use my already owned resource.

But I don't know how hard to switch 51822 to RFID. If it's hard, may I need switch to ADV/Beacon mode in BLE, but I need to lean how Beacon works, it's another hard work, right?

All I want is to decide which way is good for me.

    Thanks, Tao
