nRF5340 keeps connecting and disconnecting from M1 MacBook Air

Hello!

I have an issue with the nRF5340 when using it with an M1 MacBook Air. When I connect it to the laptop I get a notification about JLink ejecting every few seconds.

These are the errors I get in the console:

The kit is actually connected and I am able to flash it. I also do not have this issue when I attach to it using the jlink base programming and debug probe.

I have tried:

- restarting the laptop

- reinstalling JLink

- updating the laptop

- installing different versions of jlink

- resetting NVRAM

- using different hubs for the usb

- looking if the kit receives enough power

Do you have any idea as to what I could do?

It appears that you may be experiencing a known issue with M1-based Mac machines and the J-Link connection. This issue could potentially be linked to the version of SEGGER J-Link you are currently using. M1-based Mac machines require the installation of the Universal version of SEGGER J-Link to avoid any complications with the J-Link connection.

Another user reported a similar issue and found a temporary solution by downgrading the nRF Command Line Tools to version 10.23.

You could also test with another USB-cable, just to rule that out.

If the above steps do not resolve your issue, it would be helpful to have more information about the error messages you are receiving. You could try running the command "nrfjprog.exe --recover --log" and post the log for further analysis.

I have modified my version of SEGGER J-Link to the universal one and updated the firmware using JLinkconfig, and now the notification stopped appearing.
