nRF5240-DK board not working

Hi,

I have a nRF52840 DK and I tried powering it with a USB cable. The issue is when I look into device manager the device is not showing up, and when I try connecting the J-link, it also shows "cannot connect to J-Link." Additionally, I noticed that LED5 is not turning on when I power the device and flip the switch on. I know that it is not the cable or computer's problem as I have another identical board which works perfectly fine.

I found out  that I can enter bootloader mode after reading this document and LED5 is blinking. I'm not sure why the device wouldn't function normally though.

If anyone knows how to fix this issue that would be great.

Hello,

It may be that the interface MCU firmware needs to be replaced, since it seems you are able to enter bootloader mode, but the board does not work normally elsewhere.

To update interface MCU please drag and drop the j-link interface MCU firmware from here while in bootloader mode:
https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-hardware/nRF52840-DK/Download

If you hold the IF BOOT/RESET button when you plug in the USB data cable, then you should normally get a new mass storage device in you PC that is labeled "BOOTLOADER". You can drag and drop the file there.

Thank you! The device is showing up as J-Link now when I boot it up normally.
