How to read data from A&D Medical Blood Pressure using BLE

I am new to BLE development and was wondering how I can read the data published by the A&D Medical Blood Pressure Monitor with the nRF5340 acting as a central. I can connect to the sensor through NRF desktop and BLE dongle and see all the services. I was wondering where to start to print the characteristic information of the A&D device through the serial terminal. Which examples should I look at? Thank you

Hi,

I recommend that you go through https://academy.nordicsemi.com/courses/bluetooth-low-energy-fundamentals/ which is our BLE fundamentals course first. If I remember correct, there should be sections and chapters with code examples showcasing how to read data characteristics from a peripheral.

If this does not quite show you what you want, then I also recommend that you go through the BLE samples in the SDK: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/nrf/samples/bl.html and see if there is any descriptions that matches what you're after

• The Bluetooth: Central and Peripheral HRS sample demonstrates the central role by scanning for a remote device providing Heart Rate Service. When a device is connected as central, the sample starts the service discovery procedure to search for the Heart Rate Service.
• The Bluetooth: Throughput sample allows you to set the board into a central (tester) role using a button.
• The nRF Desktop application can be configured to work as a Bluetooth Central, handling multiple Bluetooth LE connections simultaneously.
• The BLE central samples in the BLE sample list demonstrate the BLE Central role with various applications like BLE Blinky Client Application Example, BLE Heart Rate Collector Example, BLE Multi-link Example, and more.
