Not able to Enable MCUBoot for formware update

Hi all!

So I'm just starting out with the Thingy 91 and I was following the Nordic Thingy 91: Getting Starting Guide and I was in the process of using MCUBoot to update my firmware. However, when I was in the programmer app on nRF Connect for Desktop, I'm not able to select that. It's fully shaded over and I haven't been able to figure out why. Some help would be greatly appreciated. I attached a photo of my screen when I load up the programmer app and as you can see the Enable MCUBoot option is fully shaded over and not accessible.

Hi,

Try to click Select Device and select the Thingy. Does this work?

Hi Sigurd!

I was able to update the nRF52840 SoC application. When I select device and then select the Thingy, enable MCUBoot is fully selected without me having to do anything which solves my initial problem. 

Now, when I try to update the modem firmware on the nRF9160 SiP and I follow the instructions on the guide, there is no cellular modem section on the left hand side menu nor an option to update modem. Is there something I'm missing in the process?

I think that if you try to download modem FW from here: https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/nRF9160/Download?lang=en#infotabs and upload that like an app, the nRF Desktop Programmer should be able to understand that this is modem firmware and handle it accordingly.

Try that and let me know how it goes.

Yes, this did work thank you! I'm just guessing that these instructions are a bit older so things have chnaged with the UI for the programmer app.
