About 2.4GHz proprietary compatibility of nRF5340

Hi, Experts,

I have questions about nRF5340 2.4GHz 2Mbps proprietary wireless feature.

1) Is it based on IEC 802.15.4 PHY to support 2MBps?

2) Is it compatible to 2.4GHz 2Mbps proprietary wireless from other supplier, such as Microchip AT86RF233/231?

Thanks,

Peng,

  • Hi Liu,

As you can see from here, we do support 802.15.4, 250kbps mode, but not 2Mbps mode.

There is only 1Mbps and 2Mbps Nordic proprietary modes.

    2) Is it compatible to 2.4GHz 2Mbps proprietary wireless from other supplier, such as Microchip AT86RF233/231?

I am not entirely sure regarding this and will have to check internally. I will get back to you by the end of the day.

    Regards,

    Priyanka

  • Hi, Priyanka,

You can refer to datasheet of AT86RF231 on Microchip website. I pated page 140 of AT86RF231 datasheet about speed setting.

This chip uses O-QPSK modulation for 2Mbps proprietary like IEEE 802.15.4 PHY but w/o spectrum spreading.

Since I can't find detail introduction of Nordic proprietary RF information, don't know nRF5340 modulation method for it.
