Enable/Disable watchdog in MCUBOOT

Hi Nordic Team, 

I'm using the nrf52833 controller with nrf Connect SDK v1.9.1. 

I wanted to enable the watchdog in MCUBOOT starting main.c file and disable it just after giving control to application main function to monitor the MCUBOOT stuck operations. 

I'm able to enable the watchdog in MCUBOOT but not able to disable or pause the watchdog after giving control to application main function. 


Please help me on this.

Hello Vimal,

The WDT peripheral on the nRF52833 cannot be stopped or re-configured after it has been started.

Thank you, for your input. Can we enable the watchdog in MCUBOOT and continue using same watchdog in application with kicking Watchdog in application first to avoid WDT reset.

Hi Vimal,

The typical approach is to start the WDT from the application, then enable feeding of the watchdog in the bootloader with CONFIG_BOOT_WATCHDOG_FEED=y. However, I don't foresee any problems with modifying the bootloader to also start the WDT as long as you align the WDT configuration with the configuration to be used by the app.
