can't connect to LTE/NBIOT with nrf9161

Hello,

I have a problem with a custom board with a nRF9161.
I am trying to connect the board with the nRF9161 to the LTE or NBIOT network, and the board doesn't seem to connect.

I am checking the network registration status, and i keeps be stuck at status : 2 "Not registered, but UE is currently trying to attach or searching an operator to register to"

The program I'm running on the custom board does actually work on a nRf9160DK.

I've tested with twodifferent SIM cards from iBASIS and 1NCE, and with both SIM cards it works on the 9160DK and not on the 9161.

The nrf9161 modem firmware have been updated to the latest version (2.0.1), and i've also tested with the older modem firmware (2.0.0)

Do you have a idea to my problem?

as the code is working on 9160DK, then probably looks like something with the custom board.

Do you have 9161DK by any chance to test with?

Did you get your custom board reviewed?

Hello,

Sorry for the late response.

We actually found our problem : As opposed to the nrf9160 the nrf9161 doesn't come with an IMEI number.

We had to get an IMEI number via nRF Cloud and implement it on the nrf9161.
