Using USB2.0 data lines when running nrf5340 at 1.8V

Hello,

We are using the npm1300 PMIC to run the nrf5340 VDD at 1.8V. If we connect D+ and D- from the USB port directly to the D+ and D- pins, will the USB peripheral of the nrf5340 still work? My understanding is that the USB2 data pins run at 3.3V. Will the peripheral handle this level change or is extra circuitry required?

The USB data lines are not powered from VDD, but from VBus via an internal LDO. Thus they run fine at 1.8V VDD.
