BLE UART Service - need to appear as serial port to macOS

Hello,

I need to be able to send/receive binary data over this BLE UART Service (bt_nus) on macOS. I'm using the peripheral_uart sample project with no success. It seems to work ok when connected to iOS. Any ideas?
