Does the HomeKit SDK for nRF51/52 support the Accessory Protocol Spec?

I was under the impression that HomeKit was an extension of the MFi Accessory Interface Specification, which relies on the iAP protocol to access additional functionality in iOS devices, is this the case? If so, does that mean I can access iAP with the HomeKit SDK?

If the HomeKit SDK does not support iAP, is there any other SDK available for the nRF51/52 series that supports it?
