Amazon Sidewalk BLE/sub-GHz co-existence and concurrent support

Hello!
Can you please clarify the capabilities of the Nordic platform, I am interested in the following topics:
1) Out-of-box BLE co-existence support (possibility to run user-defined BLE profiles parallel to Sidewalk sub-GHz options)
2) Out-of-box  support for BLE central role concurrently with sub-GHz Sidewalk links
3) Out-of-box support for sub-GHz co-existence (e.g. running Sidewalk-over-LoRa and LoRaWAN simultaneously)

thanks!

  • Hello,

I wanted to let you know that I have been assigned to this case and will get back to you tomorrow with more details.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello,

    1) Out-of-box BLE co-existence support (possibility to run user-defined BLE profiles parallel to Sidewalk sub-GHz options)

Sidewalk samples inside the sdk  demonstrates that the DFU service and Sidewalk can work together, they are set up to operate in exclusive modes. However, it’s technically possible for both services to work simultaneously if configured correctly.

    2) Out-of-box  support for BLE central role concurrently with sub-GHz Sidewalk links

No, it's contrary to Amazon Sidewalk Specification (See section 6.1.1,page No: 148).

    3) Out-of-box support for sub-GHz co-existence (e.g. running Sidewalk-over-LoRa and LoRaWAN simultaneously)

There is a Sidewalk Multi-link feature which allow to initialize Sidewalk with multiple link types, so Sidewalk stack will automatically switch between them based on given policies. You can test this using the sample, Device under Test.

    Kind Regards,

    Abhijith
