BLE Fundamentals, Lesson 3, Ex. 1 - keeps "Connecting" in the IOS app

In BLE Fundamentals, Lesson 3, Ex. 1 (BLE connection exercise), the nRF84020 DK board indicates a successful connection (led 2 is on + connection message in serial terminal), but the nRF Connect app continues in "Connecting" state forever, using iPhone 14 (IOS 17.5.1). However, it works fine in iPad Air 2 (IOS 15.8.2).

I've found Case ID: 262588 ("Cannot connect to nRF52840 from iPhone/iPad running iOS 14 using nRF Connect App") which seems to be the same issue, but the solution involves adding code to the "ble_event_handler". As far as I can see (still learning...), this is not being used in these exercises, so I'm not sure how to apply this fix. Could you please advise on how to correct this issue (in the context of the BLE Fundamentals exercises)?

Solved: I had to turn Bluetooth off in the iPhone settings and then turn it on again. It seems to be working fine now. I don't now why it happened, but it would be good to understand if this is "normal" (and why), and if anything else should be added to the application code to avoid it. Thank you.
