T-Mobile Certification Requirements for LTE-M (Cat-M)

Hello,

On T-Mobile's website [1] there are some documents relating to their certification requirements [2]. In their FAQ they state that they have minimum band requirements [3] (My assumption is they require support of all of the listed bands) and in the aforementioned document [2] under Cat-M they list B2, B4, B12, B66, B71, B85.

The B71 band requirement comes as a surprise as neither the nRF9160, the nRF9161 or the nRF9151 supports this band. It also seems to be out of place [4] when comparing with the other bands that are used globally (therefore causing a headache with regards to antenna design).

Is anyone aware of T-Mobile Certification Requirements? (e.g. required band support)

Perhaps this is a mistake on their side, or am I interpreting their FAQ statement incorrectly?

Hello Mathias,

Thank you for your answer. I guess it is unlikely they have recently added B71 as a requirement for LTE-M (Cat-M), as they acquired the license for that particular radio spectrum a long time ago.

I had it confirmed now, Vytautas, that B71 is removed from the LTE-M and NB scope and thus isn't anything you have to bother about.
