nRF52840 REG0 DCDC Iq and η

I'm looking for the quiescent current and efficiency of REG0 DCDC under the conditions of 3.0v ≤ VDDH ≤ 4.2v, VDD=1.8v.

This is to determine if external regulation using the TI TPS62840 would yield lower power consumption.

If you cannot disclose specific values for the REG0 DCDC, could you please confirm just with yes/no whether the TI or REG0 has the greater efficiency and lower quiescent current?

TI TPS62840:

60nA Iq

Efficiency ≥80% @ 1μA, ≥88% @ 100μA, ≥90% @ 10mA

Under the conditions: 3.0v ≤ VIN ≤ 4.2v, VOUT=1.8v

“Hope the information below can be reference and help you decide on which regulator to use in your design. Please note that usually PMIC SOC can achieve better performance compared to built-in buck converter module with the trade-offs such as size and cost.

For nRF52840 REG0 DCDC converter, typical quiescent current is around 35uA when it is idle, and around 300uA in normal mode.

Typical power efficiency is around 83% when Vin = 3.7V, Vout = 1.8V, at 15mA load current.

Typical power efficiency is around 81% when Vin = 4.0V, Vout = 1.8V, at 2mA load current.”
