%XCONNSTAT Data_Tx/Data_Rx format: 1000 or 1024 bytes?

The %XCONNSTAT read command returns the total amount of data received/transmitted "in kilobytes". By kilobytes, does the documentation mean 1000 bytes or 1024 bytes?
