NRF9160 Persist Ram

Hi

When doing a Software reset the RAM contents are persisted, however when doing a Hardware reset via nREST pin on the module then the non-initialized RAM section is lost, is there a way to keep the RAM contents thru a hardware reset ?

Hi Danny,

There is no way to perform a pin reset and guarantee that the RAM is retained.

As you can see under reset behaviour the RAM is never explicitly reset, but is marked as reset non-the-less as it's content is not guaranteed to stay intact. On the nRF91 series RAM content will in practice often be lost as regulators etc are reset powering down the RAM for a long enough time to loose the content.
