how to measure and monitor the signal strength

Hi everyone,

I am trying to monitor and measure the signal strenth variation by varying the positon of the developement kit NRF51 and i tried with the proximity example am always getting the -53dbm value only even though i keep the device very closer and i did not find any variation in the reading of the receiver signal strength can anyone suggest me what are the possible ways to broadcast the signal strength in real time and able to see in the nordic app

Thanks for your reply actually i am working on the same android device for testing the rssi value i turned on the bluetooth conenction in the Nrf51DK and then i conenct with my phone it is always showing somewhere around 45 to 65 but IF I test the Rssi value of another bluetooth device (GIGA SET)it is always varying depending upon the postion of the giga set (mimimum 0 to maximum 95) why it is not happening with the development kit?
