PPKII "Device must be programmed, do you want to proceed?"

Hello Slight smile

I'm trying to connect muy Power Profiler Kit II to my PC, and when I choose the device from the list it pops-up:

I clicked 'Program' and after I supposed it's finished, it takes me back to the 'Select device' list:

If I click 'Open DFU Bootloader' nothing happens. And if I click 'No' in the first picture, it stays 'Connecting' forever...

What can I do?

  • EDIETD!!!

I noticed this, in the device manager, when I connect the PPK-II, 4 COM ports appear:

The two at the bottom I don't know what they are. I uninstall them but when I reconnect the PPK-II they re-appear

And now when I open the Power profiler app, and select the device, there are two options:

The one at the bottom is the COM3 and COM14 (when I uninstall them, the 'Unknown' device option disappear).

So I select the 'PPK2' option and stays 'Connecting' foerever...

Here I share the log window:

  • Hello,

I was not able to reproduce your issue on my side. I also got the prompt for programming the device. No issues during this process.

Yes, this is known and have been reported internally. Nothing related to the PPK usage.

Do you have anything connected to the PPK? What port on the PPK are you connected to with USB?

Could you please activate verbose logging in the Power Profile app and retry to connect? You'll find the verbose logging button under "About". Afterwards, could you please provide the log file from "Open log file" after trying to connect to your PPK?

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind

  • Yes, it appears in Device manager, like the picture above, this one here:

And I tried uninstall it a lot of times, but the issue persists

  • During installation of nRF Connect for Desktop you should have gotten the question of installing "nordic cdc acm driver"?

    Did you click yes?

On the other computer where the PPK2 did work, could you please provide the same screenshot from the Device Manager?

  • When installing nRF Connect for Desktop I didn't get that prompt, it goes straight to install de app and it also pops the SEGGERJ-Link Setup window.

Here it is the Device manager on the other laptop:

  • Thanks for providing this information. Please try to download the installer from this link and install manually
    https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfconnect-launcher/blob/main/build/drivers/nrf-device-lib-driver-installer.exe

  • I already had that downloaded few days ago, but didn't work.

Tried it out again, but same situation, "Connecting..." forever Disappointed
