in the exersise blefund_less3_exer1_solution COM port selected but no logout info on the Terminal displaied.

Hello,

I'm using iphone 15 and  nRF52840 board, working on Lesson 3 Exersise 1 solution. In the step 5 after reseting the board there is no logout info on the terminal. But before that under Connected Devices I selected COM5 and can see the message on the Terminal that "Connected to COM5" . Also no LED indication after the board reset in step 6 and in the step 7 cannot see results of   Connect / Disconnect tests.

Thanks, Steven.

  • Hello,

Do you see anything other than "Connected to COM5" in the terminal?

Also no LED indication after the board reset in step 6

Are you able to connect to it using the nRF Connect for iOS in step 6? Do you see your device?

When you selected COM5, did any other options pop up? COM4 or COM6, perhaps?

And are you sure that nothing connected to that COM port before? Some other UART terminal? If you are in doubt, power cycle the DK before you connect to it in VS Code.

And are you using the Nordic nRF52840 DK, or some 3rd party kit?

And finally, have you tried to use another serial terminal? Putty? Termite?

    Best regards,

    Edvin

  • Hello Edvin,

After the board resetting or recycling power the VS Code terminal always empty.  I also tried Putty and TeraTerm terminals and it was the same result with empty terminal.

I was able to Connect in the step 6 and see the same screen as in the lesson.

When selecting COM5 no other options were added. CONNECTED DEVICES picure on my VS Code is exactly the same  as shown in the lessons.

No other COM ports connected to my PC now. When disconnected the board from the PC no any COM ports shown on the PC Device Manager.

    I'm using Nordic nRF52840-DK board.

    Additional info maybe helpfull:

After clicking "Connect" on the iPhone I'm getting exactly the same picture as in the lesson. But when trying to test if the button press was transmitted from the board to iPhone, nothing has happened, the same with controlling LED on/off from iPhone nothing happence on the board.

    Thanks,  Steven.
