How many BLU device connect at a time

I am Maria from SmarEdns. We need a hardware device that connect 15+ BLU at a time and update firmware. how many BLU connection avaliable in nRF52840 Dongle  at a time?

Hello Maria,

That depends on the BLE stack being used. Using the Softdevice Controller (SDC) you can have a maximum of 20 concurrent connections, and with the Zephyr open source controller there is no limit. Though this is just the theoretical limit, in practice you also have to keep in mind the memory requirements for this to work, that needs to fit along with your application.

So you need to ask yourself if you really need 15+ BLE connections, or if maybe some other protocol could also work for you. There are many to choose from, like Thread, Zigbee, BLE Mesh, PaWR, etc.
