Problems with flashing to nRF52840 starting from Lesson 2 of Nordic DevAcadamy.

In my previous ticket regarding DevAcademy tutorial for nRF 52840 I already mentioned. that starting from lesson 2 iPhone cannot communicate with the board and the VS Code terminal was not working.

I guess I found the source of misbehavier, but don't know how to fix it. What I found is that Flashing process at Lesson1 is different from Flashing at Lessons 2, 3, and 4.  

Attached are results of Flashing in Lesson 1 and Lesson 4.

Hi Steven,

Which version of nRF Connect SDK are you using?

Can you share what your nRF52840 DK board.cmake file look like? The path to the file should be zephyr/boards/nordic/nrf52840dk/board.cmake for v2.7.0 and zephyr/boards/arm/nrf52840dk_nrf52840/board.cmake for v2.6 and earlier.

Have you set pyocd as the flash runner, for example, with BOARD_FLASH_RUNNER? The default flash runner is nrfjprog, which should be used unless something else is specified in the west command or by a CMake variable. You can read more about flash runners in Choosing a Runner

Hi Marte,

When I was installing nRF Command-Line-Tools and nRF Connect for VS Code I followed Nordic Represantative instructions on youtube video:

Never manualy changed something which was automatically setup. My nRF DK version is v2.7.99-cs1

Please try using nRF Connect SDK v2.7.0 instead of v2.7.99-cs1.

Hi Marte,

I decided to rewrite my email after I finaly was able to make working v2.7.0  But unfortunately the result was the same. Flashing program somehow was using as runner pyocd instead of nrgjprog.  Checked the link to "Choosing the Runner", but still  don't know which file I should modify in order it start working,

Hi Steven,

I am not able to reproduce the issue on my side, and I see nothing in the exercise code that should make it use pyocd as the runner.

Can you share your build directory?

Please provide support information from the VS Code extension:

1. Open the command palette (Ctrl + Shift + P or View > Command Palette).
2. Write "nRF Connect: Generate support information" and press enter.
3. Copy the entire support information output.
4. Upload it here using Insert > Code or upload a .txt file with Insert > Image/video/file.

Make sure to remove confidential information you do not want to be shared in a public case.
