Official support for longer range and mesh, which devices and when?

Hi, As first stage of planning our next generation of wireless sensors at my workplace, I must carefully consider which radio protocol suits us best. We don't need sub 1 ghz range, but Bluetooth Smart as of today does not cut it. With increased range and mesh topology, Bluetooth might be the perfect solution. With bluetooth we can come by with only developing the sensors and rely on existing hardware (Google on-hub for instance) as a hub and relaying to our server.

I am referring to this press release when asking:

1. When will these new features be available and officially supported by Nordic?
2. Will at be made available to both NRF51 and NRF52 devices?
